There are very few things that can make me as instantly happy as a drink from Sonic can. It's an almost magical power over me (no exaggeration at all!) Cherry limeade, lemon-berry slushes, ocean water, and orange cream slushes...mmm I smile just thinking about my favorites (wow, this sounds pretty pitiful on paper)! And to make me even more obsessed, of course Sonic has half priced drinks everyday from 2-4pm!
In high school, I went 3ish days a week between school and cheer practice in the spring and fall as a celebration for an accomplished day and an encouragement for the long afternoon ahead. And of course during the Edge my sophomore and junior summers, the work crew made many happy memories on Sonic runs (: All to say, the drinks + the experiences associated make Sonic a very happy place for me.
Since I've been at Auburn and on a tighter budget than high school (not to mention, I did not have an accessible car all last semester) my Sonic runs have sadly been fewer and farther between. So, when my bible study leader suggested we catch up over drinks at Sonic instead of Starbucks, it made my day. A cherry limeade, some life updates, and some Jesus talking was just what I needed on a spring Thursday afternoon!
Now you know, if you ever need to break bad news, or ask a favor, or just have a desire to brighten my day, Sonic is the way to go! Excuse my obsession (:
