Let's get real.

I'm officially over 5 months behind on posts.
Don't think that I've forgotten. I remember it all the time, but the massive amount of things to write about sends me running from blogspot to Facebook over and over.
But all along, I have intended to catch up.  And I will.  Somewhere around September when my camera charger was in Augusta and the camera was dead here, I lost my habit of taking a picture everyday.  But I still have pictures! Lots of them!  And many many other storys, links, songs, and quotes that I'm looking forward to posting.
And it really has been an amazing semester.  Maybe I've felt so overwhelmingly blessed here at Auburn that trying to put it down in type just overwhelmed me more.
But a week from today, I will be in Augusta, more than likely sitting on the couch, in the gray area between lazy and bored, and then the procrastination will end, and my catching up will begin.  Even if I'm not done until February, I want to have all of 2011 documented right here.
So...I'm working on it (:

July 1: Road Trip!

After a long day at work, Mary Frances and I recreated our epic road trip of summer 2010 from Augusta to Chattanooga/Lookout Mountain to spend the weekend of the 4th at my aunt and uncle’s cabin.
Frances and I can rock a road trip. A 5 hour drive at the end of a 10 hour work day seems like a stupid, torturous thing to do, but I knew that it would be completely tolerable with May Fay! We sing songs, we take pictures, we talk about random stuff, we make videos that would make you think we are still in middle school.  Tons more fun that a car ride should be! thankya for being my driving buddy franfran

June 30: Sparklers!

Today, Crazy Science camp played with "homemade sparklers" or basically just burned magnesium over a candle and watched the exciting sparkler-like reaction.  This was an ideal experiment fourth and fifth graders, especially the boys because they got to feel responsible enough to do their experiment with fire but  still got to burn stuff.  I felt like I was back in chemistry lab and got to burn a strip of two myself.  More importantly, it made awesome slideshow and brochure pictures that were very entertaining to take!

June 29: Webkinzzz

Check it out.  There is a child underneath all these stuffed animals!  Tonight, I went to babysit for Skylar who I taught harp to my junior and senior year of high school.  We had so much fun playing together! After swimming and going for a walk, she took me upstairs to show me her Webkinz collection.  She has something like 160 of these little stuffed animals.  They all have names.  She loves every one.  But, wow, one hundred and sixty
Can't quite wrap my mind around it.

June 28: Camp Wildcat love!

Can I just say, Alyssa has been absolutely amazing this summer.  It's been so great to get to see her and hang out every day at work, and every single day she blows me away with how great she is with these kids!
Let me brag on her for a minute.  She is the head of Camp Wildcat all summer - Camp Wildcat is a VBS type camp that kids can come to for a half or full day.  Week to week, Alyssa has between 6 and 12 kids that are all hers (plus an assistant sometimes). Alyssa comes in every morning before 8am and stays all day through 4 when the kids home, and then she goes back into her room to clean up the various explosions and messes of the day and stays as long as that takes.  Then, add all that to lesson and craft planning and preparing.  She has a different theme of lessons every week and a different lessons and crafts everyday.  And on top of all of that, her kids adore her, and I can see her positively influencing their lives and attitudes everyday! I'm just blown away.  Lyss, call me if you ever need someone to brag on your teaching qualifications, because clearly, I think you are going to be an amazing teacher one day!
P.S. This is how cute Tripp was today.

June 27: Bachelorette Party!

This has been one of my favorite parts of the summer! Every Monday night, Mary Frances' house is filled up with people just to watch a little trash tv.  A bunch of high school girls and college girls plus a decent handful of guys and Ms. Thayer of course!  We have so much fun mostly just commentating and laughing at the guys and cheering for our favorites.  It's an unspoken, weekly party, and as unwholesome  as the Bachelorette is, we love Mondays so much!

June 26: Tripp!

Favorite picture of the summer. (not actually taken today, cheating a little, but still)
Can you tell how much we adore this kid!?
I'm just feeling so blessed to be at this job with sweet kids and sweet friends! Woo summer programs 2011 (:

June 25: 6th Grade Progressive Dinner

Tonight, I got to be a part of one of this year’s prefects cool ministry to the 6th grade girls at our school (Julia’s class) by driving for their progressive dinner (one of my favorite kinds of parties!).  We started at my house with fruit and appetizers, then moved to another house for dinner, then finally to one more house for dessert.  Along with these changes of locations came changes of clothes to mirror how we change as we develop in our Christian walk.  The girls started out in work out clothes to symbolize our lives before we come Christians.  Then at dinner they changed into semi-dressy churchish clothes to symbolize our walks as Christians. And finally for dessert they changed into their nicest dresses for decadent desserts on fine china to symbolize heaven.  Along with the meal and the changing clothes came great devotions from some of the high school girls leading the night.  I was so surprised that through these talks and just the conversations we had been having all night long how much these high school and middle school girls had been ministering to me.  I got so much out of these simple talks just about what it is like to live as a Christian.  God speaks to us in amazing and unexpected ways and I felt so blessed to be a part of such a cool night tonight.

June 23: Cat House?

Brace yourself for my most bizarre picture so far this year.  This is my neighbor’s cat house.  Yes I said Cat. House.  An air conditioned room with bunk beds, lounge chairs, and even a screened in porch with a cat door that automatically locks itself from 5pm to 6am.  Cra-cra!
This week while the neighbors are out of town my mom and I are taking care of their nine cats which entails letting them in and out of the cat house at specific times every morning and evening, giving them new food and water, cleaning the litter box, but most importantly, just counting and calling them all because just keeping track of nine cats that all look pretty much the same.  This experience alone will keep me from ever being anything close to a crazy cat lady.  I like cats, but they aren’t people and I don’t like pretending that they are! Ha (:

June 22: Um, Hi, precious!

Tripp.  Oh my goodness, we are all obsessed! Probably camper-of-the-week for the rest of the summer.  He's only four, but doing baseball this week with his brother so he won't have to be in Camp Wildcat for the morning and the afternoon. That's a long day for a little guy!  He is super sweet but has this witty little attitude sometimes and it's just too cute.
Loving camp still, and we all just can't get enough of these sweet kids!

June 21: Les Miserables

Reading, reading, reading all summer long!
I've finally finished Les Mis which I've been slowly but surely tackling for all of June.  It has fallen apart in the process - first just the cover, and then broken up into sections little by little every time it laid out in the sun and melted.
What a wonderful book!  Understandably a classic and it's about time that I read it.
And for the remains of this poor book, I have crafty intentions! Possibly a wreath? More to come!

June 20: THE Ice Cream Dessert

Caution:  This may change your life.  I'm not one to choose favorites among desserts; actually, my favorite probably changes every time I'm asked.  But this ends all my indecisiveness.  It's simply known as "The Ice Cream Dessert" - it needs no other day - and Anne Caroline taught me how to make it when I first visited her in Montgomery the summer before freshman year.  Since then, I've brought it back to Augusta and made it several times, and when I do make it, it doesn't last long (: Mary Frances and I made it tonight for Bachelorette night at her house. So yummy!
Here's what it is:
start with a layer of ice cream sandwiches on the bottom of whatever size dish you want
next, a layer of cookies and cream ice cream (Blue Bell is the best) - use the whole carton
then, a layer of cool whip
finally, crushed up Oreos topped with chocolate syrup and caramel
stick it back in the freezer and cut and serve like a casserole!
It doesn't sound like that much, but ohhhh my goodness, all together, it is just magical!

June 19: addicted

I usually try to avoid anything that highlights how much of a type A personality I have, but today, I can't help it.  I've always loved my planners, and the amount of excitement I have over this new one for the coming year is a little pathetic.  It's cute and very granola plus has all the things that I'm secretly particular about like big boxes for each day on the two-page week spreads and even lines put aside for to-do lists.
It's a big deal for me to admit this obsession to whoever is reading, because it's usually something that I keep to myself and play down because I think it's weird.  But I'm embracing it today - maybe the cuteness balances out the type A a little bit?

June 18: Crafty Pot

What I consider my biggest crafting success so far this summer - an ADPi pot (:
Since around Christmas time I’ve been getting soo excited about having a sorority little sister of my own starting this fall, and this summer, it is finally time to start making and being gifts for her, whoever she may be.  The plant finatic in me thinks this potted Africian violet (violets are ADPi’s flower - cute right?) in a hand-painted pot which reads “We live for each other”  I hope my little thinks this is as cute as I think it is.  If not, I’ll be keeping it for myself (:

June 17: More favorites

Disclaimer:  Haley took this picture, not me.
But still, these two boys may be two of the coolest people I know. Period.  Doc (right) and Jake (left)  (with "Miss Anna #1") are both 7 years old, all-star athletes, polite as anything, and, oh yeah, they're best friends.  Love them to death.  A compliment from Doc or Jake pretty much makes our days, and their approval means more than compliments from the guys our age.  Needless to say, everyone working this week is a little obsessed.
#justalittleattached

June 16: Sushi and Shopping with Ned

Ned and I are all-stars at sibling dates.  We’ve both been super crazy lately with me working and him being out of town on the usual summer trips that I feel like I haven’t seen him at all.  So this afternoon after I got off work at 12:30 we went and got a sushi lunch at one of our favorite places and then headed to the mall for a few small errands and just some general hang out time.  Winning afternoon for sure!

June 15: Kindle!

The one thing I asked for for my 19th birthday?  Not an iPhone, new iPod, clothes or jewelry.  I’ve wanted a Kindle so bad for so long!  Maybe it’s because I did hardly any reading for fun this school year, but I’ve been dying to get my hands on my very own book collection at my finger tips.  Plus, I’m happy for anything that gets me off my computer or away from the tv.  Now that I’ve finally finished Les Miserables, I’m starting my first Kindle book - Water for Elephants (I'll let you know how it is).  Light, summery reading is long overdue for me.
I feel like such a nerd for being so excited, but I’m ok with that!

June 14: STAFF

Now I didn't take this picture, but I did direct a 7 year old where to point and shoot, so maybe I get some credit?  These are all of the girls who worked Summer Programs this week in our matching STAFF tshirts. Another unexpected blessing of work this summer has been how close I've gotten with these girls.  I've known them all for forever, but just getting to bond over shared experiences and issues with kids, funny stories and struggles with kids has been so much fun!  I'm loving working with these girls so much! How blessed am I to get to work all summer long with such great friends!?

June 13: Memories already

My unpacking process is still ongoing and as slow as ever, but this afternoon, I slowly plodded through another box of random stuff that I had haphazardly thrown together on that last day at Auburn.  While unpacking today, I found this white board that hung on the back of my and Anne Caroline's door the whole year.  It collected notes that we never really wiped off (some are literally from before classes started) and now looking at it, freshman year seems like yesterday and forever ago at the same time.  I miss that suite, but I'm so thankful for all of the memories we made together last year!  So many inside jokes and sweet times just hanging out together.  I love little reminders like this white board that show me over and over how blessed I have been this year! God is good!

June 12: Hebrews 4:16

June 11: doing a load of chacos?

This is kind of gross, but my chaco's were absolutely disgusting after wearing them all day everyday for the past week.  They've gotten wet and sweaty, and noticeably smelly, so today they're going in the dishwasher for a serious cleaning.  I'm working on the Chaco tan, but they're not cool shoes when they smell like feet!

June 10: Time Efficient

Splurge for the sake of work: my first ever practical, yet still nice watch.  I’ve only had it for a week, but like I knew I would be, I’m already hooked.  I’ve caught myself multiple times checking my watch-less wrist for the time.  It makes me feel more efficient and official and I don’t feel completely completely dressed without it.  It seems kind of silly to dedicate a whole post to a new watch, but that’s just how pleased I am with it.  I’m proud to finally be a watch girl!

June 9: Games Galore

Today and tomorrow afternoon, Katelyn and I are running Games Galore camp, which the kids are loving because they get to play with all of the P.E. toys that are usually a treat during the school year.  I forgot what a big deal scooters are!  I like how fun it is for them.  You want a hula hoop? Sure. You want to play Shark Attack with the parachute? Let's do it.  You want to tie your scooters together and make a train?  As long as no one falls off.  How fun for them to just get to have the gym to themselves to play! I'm more than happy to facilitate.

June 8: Is it bad to have favorites?

One thing I didn't expect when I signed up for this summer job was how quickly I would fall in love with these kids.  Especially the little ones (Alyssa has a lot of ages 4-6 this week) are just precious
Here is my favorite this week - I have a feeling that I'll change from week-to-week.  Ben is just happy, and I love that! Now, of course, it's Alyssa and Mary Elizabeth who are dealing with these kids all day long.  I just get to pop in at snack time and recess to make sure things are going smoothly.  So maybe I can enjoy them more when I'm not dealing with the discipline side of things.  But still, just so cute!

June 7: Hammond's Ferry

I had a flashback to being 6 years old again when today after a morning of doctor’s appointments, my mom suggested we go out to a splurge lunch.  The 19-year-old equivalent of a Happy Meal was a yummy lunch at a little restaurant called Emmanuel’s Bread Cafe. The food was great, but my favorite part about this place is the location.  It’s right across the river in this little community/neighborhood called Hammond’s Ferry that looks like a Stepford Charleston dated about 100 years back.  Perfect little houses all in a row. Super quite with the river just a block or two over your shoulder.  Ideal retirement dream.  A taste of the low-country in Augusta like it was plucked right out of a Nicholas Sparks book.  I feel a little (no, actually really) to be thinking about retirement plans, but I don’t know, I can just see myself as a little old lady sitting on a porch like this.  Haha we’ll see one day far, far away!

June 6: Birthday Work-day

I’ve been spoiled having a summer birthday that meant I got to sleep in, hang out, and just do what I wanted. Through most of high school, I even got to be at Folly Beach with the church for my birthday which was always so much fun.  This year, however, felt like my first grown-up birthday as June 6 was also the first day of Summer Programs, which meant up and at school before 7am and dealing with hectic figuring out how things are going to run all summer.  But, even though I didn’t get an “All About McCamy” day (which is actually totally fine with me), it was still a great day.  I got to be with friends at work (Above: Alyssa teaching on her first day of Camp Wildcat!), and the first day of camps went gracefully without as much stress as we expected (:  So Happy grown-up Birthday to me! I’ve felt so blessed today (:

June 5: So I've been struggling..

I've been missing a few more pictures than I'd like to lately, but I've decided to fill these holes with fun pictures that I didn't take.  I blog stalk a lot of girls who find and post art and pictures that I'm obsessed with! I even have a "blog pulls" event in iPhoto, and my desktop is littered with pictures I've dragged and dropped from all my favorite pages.  So, when you see I picture I didn't take, just know that it was a picture-less day, but it gave me the opportunity to post something prettier than I could've take anyway (:

June 4: Say-rah's Birthday!

Today, Peter and I had lunch with our sweet friend Sarah, and because it is her birthday today (which, of course, she didn’t want us to realize), we got to give her a little more attention than she was comfortable with.  At Red Robin, we skipped the singing, but still got her a yummy giant hot fudge sundae and made her open presents at the table.  I really do love birthdays in general, and I love celebrating other people’s just as much as I love celebrating mine! Happy Birthday Sarah!!

June 3: unashamed bookworm

This book shelf may be one of my favorite parts of my room.  Even though it’s just a simple, unexciting piece of furniture, I love having all of my books out on display.  My love for books really does make me feel like a nerd, but still, I’m not turning done a Barnes and Noble gift card or a sale on Amazon when there is a chance to grow my collection a little more.  You can find everything from Harry Potter, to Wuthering Heights,  to My Utmost for His Highest on this shelf, and I just love it!

June 2: immature briefcase dilemma

I feel like this bag has been my life for the past week.  It is my substitute for a briefcase and has housed all of my work stuff - huge files of registration forms, multiple to do lists, a few too many checks for me to feel comfortable with, a cell phone exclusively for work and my heavier than it looks laptop.  Welcome to adult world!

June 1: Gourmet Night

When summer nights get duller than dull in Augusta, we get creative with our activities.  Tonight, Peter and I took on a cooking experience and prepared Chicken Cordon Bleu, mashed potatoes, and snap peas. Quite delicious and easier than we expected, even though when we added up all the ingredients, it ended up costing a little more than just going out to dinner.  Still, I am impressed with our skills and enjoying to bragging on us and our cooking adventures!

May 31: making banana pancakes...

My two little cousins Summer and Leigha spent the night last night, and since I somehow woke up before noon this morning in a cooking mood, I made us all a huge batch of chocolate chip banana pancakes.  Ironically, I’m not the hugest fan of bananas and I’d probably rather have strawberries on top of my chocolate chip pancakes, but because of the Jack Johnson song that I adore, I always want to add some banana slices to my pancakes.  Worth it just to be able to sing the song while I’m cooking.
Can’t you see that it’s just raining. There ain’t no need to go outside (:

May 30: Cousins

The cousins are in town this week!  We don’t get to see CJ, Leigha, Summer, and Bennett too often, so it’s always a treat when they come over from Newberry to spend a couple of days with Poppop and Norma.  Hopefully they’ve been entertained in Augusta with watching swim meets, hanging out at the pool, and going to movies - it’s not like Augusta is the most entertaining place in the world, especially in the already hot summertime.  The girls are spending the night with us tonight, and we’ll have a nice little Pruitt sleepover with pancakes in the morning. It’s been so good to hang out with them as they are getting way too old way too fast!  We love our sweet cousins!

May 29: Kid at Heart

Julia and I have had quite a few fun ice cream excursions after dinner so far this summer.  Tonight we are at Bruster’s, and I am way happier than I should be with my regular:  Cotton Candy Explosion.  This is probably right up there with other “kid flavors” like Purple Dinosaur and Superman, but I don’t care.  No matter how many different, creative, yummy flavors Bruster’s has, I am always happiest with this one.  The girl scooping my ice cream may have given me a funny look, but this is worth it for sure.

May 28: The Bow Necklace

At a loss for what to take a picture of today, I’m capturing an essential part of my everyday wardrobe.  I wear this bow necklace literally everyday.  It actually started our silver when I bought it in Charleston on my senior trip last year, but I’ve worn it down to a bronzy color that looks like it could be intentional.  I love it and when it breaks one day, I’ll be hunting for a replacement as close to the original as possible.  #simplepleasures

May 27: Boll Weevil Cake

Tonight, my old friend Christian and I had our semi-annual dinner and a movie date night like we do every time he’s back in town from Texas.  For dinner, we went downtown to The Boll Weevil, what I consider a classic Augusta restaurant, which is famous for (can you guess?) its monstrous and delicious cakes.  After dinner, we shared a rich slice of some sort of sinfully chocolate cake, which is probably the reason why we chose to go there in the first place.  Completely wonderful.  And an insider’s tip:  their cake is half-priced on Sundays (: YUM!

May 26: Dream Yard

Most girls my age have huge dreams of what they want their house to look like one day.  But the thought of a whole house left for me to decorate and design is overwhelming to me.  As much as I like shopping for home decor and making decorative crafts, right now I'm looking out at my backyard and dreaming about what I want my yard to look like one day!
Lit up trees, exotic flower beds, a greenhouse full of vegetables, fruit trees, hammocks, a pool, lounging areas, a grown up tree house, patios and fire pits. So many options and so many ways to transform a yard into a magical get away!
Of course this means that I’ll have to live somewhere north of Augusta as right now it is literally dangerous to be outside for more than 30 minutes at a time.
But regardless, one day my yard will blow your mind!

May 25: DQ

]
It’s getting to be a little too often that Julia and I make eye contact as we’re finishing up dinner and mouth to each other “Dairy Queen?”  But these little ice cream runs are so much fun.  Blizzards for the whole family while watching So You Think You Can Dance is exactly the right way to wrap up a long day!
Count your blessings, not your calories!

May 24: Empty Again

Gas prices are high, and so is the mileage I’m wracking up right now as I’m driving across town everyday to tutor a middle schooler for finals coming up.  I’ve started only filling up my tank half-way, because I cannot stand to watch that $40-$60 tick up for a measly 14 gallons.  But the downside of that method is that I’m filling up twice as often. So here I am once again on empty.  I can’t wait to be back at school walking everywhere instead of burning up my paycheck on my way to my job.  This is getting out of hand!

May 23: Back at WSA

This is a bizarre flashback.
Today is Honors/Awards Day at Westminster and instead of sitting down with the students and going up to receive awards like I did for so many years, I'm sitting up in the bleachers with the parents watching Ned and Julia hopefully carry on my legacy (:  I don't feel old enough to have this behind me already.  Even though it's been two years since I was in Ned's place as a junior, it feels like a lifetime and two minutes at the same time.  After being in the parent audience today, I officially feel like I've passed on the torch to Ned (for one more year) and Julia (for 5 more years after that).  No more high school for me!

May 22: Melo-blog-matic

This is PA-THE-TIC!!
I can’t figure out this mental block, but once again, keeping up with my blog has flown way out of my reach..Once I get this far behind, it gets super daunting and I just don’t have the motivation to write.
Goal for the summer:  Be caught up before I go back to school!! That’s attainable right? We’ll see!

May 21: Workin' at the Car Wash

All little kids love going through the automatic car wash.  It’s something about feeling like your car is being attacked by a giant soap monster but you are safe and cozy inside.
Today, I had a little time to kill after tutoring and my car was nasty dirty, so I decided to run through a car wash and see if it was as fun as it used to be when I was little.  And yes, it was! Going through was fun, but the realization that my car was not actually clean afterwards was more than a but disappointing.  I really had no idea that there was even a chance that Toby wouldn’t come out completely spotless. The dirt is scrubbed shiny now, and a real car was will be happening later this week.
Live & learn.

May 20: Girls' Night In

How domestic.
Friends united for a night of cooking at home and a movie out.  On the menu was taco salad with Ms. Thayer’s famous and delicious mexican layer dip and virgin margaritas on the rocks.
Lyss + Fran + Cam = So much fun tonight!!

May 19: Rocket

Meet Rocket!
He is a paper mache duck that Mary Frances made for art during sophomore year.  After he got off display, I couldn’t bear to see him thrown away, so Mary Frances gave him to me and he’s lived in my room ever since.  He’s become this bizarre room decoration that doesn’t ever phase me as out of place until someone sees him for the first time and is like ‘What in the world is that thing?’
I don’t know how well Rocket would be received at Auburn or if I would even have room for him, but I really did kind of miss him in my room this year.  Just watch - one day he will be in the corner of my living room, just chilling, and still getting weird looks from guests.  Some things just can’t be thrown away.

May 18: Perpetually Messy

So I’ve officially been home for almost two weeks, and my most impostant lesson of summer so far:  Unpacking is not my forte.  If it’s even possible, I have made negative progress  and somehow the mess is growing instead of shrinking.  This is pitiful.  I can’t even imagine unpacking a whole house  after a move. I’m going to need a lot more practice before anything on that scale! And for now, I’ll keep whittling away on this mess so that maybe I’ll be unpacked by the time I have to start packing to go back to Auburn.
As of right now, it’s not looking too good.

May 17: Something Borrowed

I’m a big advocate of the opinion that books are always better than movies based off them.  So, when a major movie like Something Borrowed is coming out, I definitely want to read the book before I see the movie, because doing it the other way around just never seems to work for me.  After hearing rave reviews at Auburn about the book by Emily Griffin, I chose to hold off seeing the movie until I finished this book.  However, in the end, I was very disappointed.
It is definitely a light, easy, summery read, but the overall message I got from it was simply justified infidelity as the protagonist cheats with her best friend’s fiance.  She justifies it of course with the fact that her best friend is generally just a horrible person who has never treated her right and would do the same thing to her, and Griffin tries to overlook the moral dilemma to highlight the theme of self discovery and confidence in the meek and mousy protagonist.  But personally I don’t care.  You do not cheat, no matter what. And especially not with your best friend’s boyfriend.  So as I’m finishing up this book, I’m disappointed. See the movie, don’t waste your time with the book.

May 16: Piquing My Pinterest

What happens when I don’t go to sleep until 3am every night (even when I actually want to go to sleep)?  Link to link to link of crafting (: Tonight I pretty much planned out my whole apartment for the fall, plus random crafts for my future little and much more.  I plan (key word there being plan ) to make all sorts of things from tissue paper wall flowers to giant murals made out of paper towel rolls to chalk board picture frames.  The crafty gene in my family has skipped me for many years (Julia is the artist) but maybe it’s finally kicking in!  Summer goal: My room will look like an Anthropologie store in the fall!

May 15: Skype-A-Lype

I miss this girl right here!  It is so sad not to be able to walk through the bathroom into her room and sit on the bed.  Instead we are stuck with texting and phone calls and the all to infrequent, yet still great Skype dates.  We talked until my computer died and beyond tonight catching up, and getting to pretend that she didn’t live 6 hours away made my night! I wish Huntsville and Augusta were closer!! #kloveyoubye

May 14: Here Comes the Bride

After Westminster's graduation this morning, today revolved around the first paying job of the summer:  A wedding harp gig.  I generally love playing for parties because people enjoy the background music without the pressure of a silent audience listening to every note and mis-note I play.  But weddings are a different story - I am the soundtrack as the guests are being seated, the bridal party processes, and of course as the bride walks down the aisle.  Not that I wasn’t prepared for this, but the pressure of making a bride’s special day absolutely perfect is enough to make any performer nervous (at least any female performer who realizes the importance of this music being perfect)!
But today, all in all, after we waited out an hour of rain which ended up giving this couple a perfect, cool sunset ceremony, I didn’t blow it at all (: and I even got asked to play another wedding in September for one of the guests.  I definitely could not make a career out of playing weddings and other big, important occasions, but an occasional wedding to make some extra money is something that I definitely want to keep up for as long as I can!
