I am so blessed in so many ways, and one of those ways that God has made explicitly obvious to me this semester has been by placing a church community in my life that I absolutely adore. I was very resistant to First Baptist Opelika when I first visited there last semester. The church service made me miss First Pres Augusta oh so much and I just didn't initially feel at home there. Plus it's baptist which I know is really not a big deal at all, but me being a little faithful presbyterian I didn't feel quite right saying I loved a baptist church.
However, this semester has been a different story. One of the first Sundays of the year, I visited FBCO and went to their college service for the first time. Love immediately. Worship was amazing, college pastor was amazing, and the feeling of community in that college sunday school class was incredible as well. I was completely sold and can honestly say that I felt God pulling me there and telling me that this is supposed to be my church home. I feel so fed every time I go, and I simply love that it's somewhere where I want to wake up and go early on a Sunday morning! I know it is completely not a given to be settled into a church already, and I love so much that God has given me this gift in 2011 that I needed so badly!
So, when Erin and I made a run out to Opelika today to drop off a check, I snapped a phone pic out of the window. I just love my church (:
