I didn't realize until Peter and I went to my first ever Auburn Baseball game how much I love and I've missed baseball! Granted, the weather was absolutely perfect, we got great seats, got in the gate for free, and won the game, but still the whole experience just made almost giddy with enjoyment of being there.
I love the pace of baseball, the ease for a fan to follow the game, the unique smells of a baseball stadium, and the atmosphere that baseball fans provide.
Years and years of watching Ned play middle school and high school baseball wore me out of the game for a while (slow games, in the hot Augusta summer, and especially if we're getting slaughtered are not so much fun), but all those years also helped me to understand the game, appreciate skill, and just love baseball in general. Even though I don't follow MLB much at all, I love to actually go sit in the stands and watch any team play.
So today, watching my Tigers win in perfect weather with a great friend makes me want to go to every Auburn baseball game this season!
And to add to the general awesomeness of a baseball game, we got to sing the fight song. Winning afternoon!
