The downer on the fun road trip weekends is always the long drive back to the 'burn. Now generally, I like driving down the highway by myself where I can belt along with my cds without embarrassing myself (at least not too much, you gotta love those awkward moments when you catch the person in the car next to you staring at you like you're crazy. Or maybe that's just me.), just thinking, or (cough, cough, not a nerd) listening to books on tape. However, regardless of if the ride is enjoyable or not, the beauty of going to a school that is always at least a 3 hour drive away from everywhere I go in Georgia is that when I pass Opelika I start getting excited and when I see the Exit 51 sign it feels so great to finally be back!
Now this lil pic that I took today at the end of the exit ramp may not be my most well composed picture ever, but I'm super proud of it, because it was taken 1) while the car was still in motion and 2) while I was talking on the phone. I thought that was impressive.
I love how familiar this sign already feels to me and how much more familiar I know it will continue to get over the next 4 years. It's not quite as exciting as I20's exit 195 Wheeler Road is quite yet, but I85's exit 51 College Street is definitely close to my heart already!
